The Gigabyte Cupio 6140 is an attractive ATX pedestal tower PC case - for building a near silent computer or quiet gaming PC. It is a great-looking stylish black case with 'silent' features built in that have been designed to reduce PC operating noise. This case has a high quality construction, and as such is 'vibration free' - so small vibrating or loose case parts will not add to other PC noise, which is so often the case with cheaper standard construction PC cases.
The uniquely designed 'wave' style solid aluminum front door is a 'quiet' feature that will help reduce noise escaping directly to the front of the case from optical drives and internal components. Sound traveling directly to the front is absorbed and diverted by the solid door, and this will reduce the sound energy (a proportion is also reflected back in to the case, of course).
Gigabyte Cupio 6140 quiet PC Case
Both side panels of the case (the side door, and the panel behind the motherboard) are removable. In standard PC cases, the panel behind the motherboard is often fixed, being manufactured from one piece with the top and base. This construction feature means that acoustic absorption and vibration-damping materials can be added to both side panels to reduce transmissivity and increase adsorption of noise inside the PC enclosure. The addition of the acoustic absorption and vibration-damping materials are included as a standard addition on the Ultra Quiet Special Edition case.
A solid steel side door panel is also included as a standard feature on the Ultra Quiet Special Edition case. This panel does not have any of the standard side venting holes (located opposite CPU and graphics card coolers), which the standard Gigabyte cases exhibit. This will further reduce noise escape from the side of case, and help towards creating a near silent PC. Airflow with the solid side panel fitted will be forced to flow front to rear, and cooling will no longer be augmented by a vent on the case side. Care will need to be taken during system design, assembly and testing to add adequate quiet PC case fans (slow running, large, quiet fans) to facilitate air flow.
Other 'quiet' case features include two liquid cooling tube inlet/outlet holes built in to the rear of the chassis, and internal liquid cooling kit spacing’s - case features which allow easy upgrade to a near-silent water cooled PC, should you wish to cool hot components remotely using liquid cooling.
The case has been designed to be tool-free, and has some nice cable management features to assist with creating a tidy system build, and good internal airflow. The top of the case also facilitates easy access to the main power button, and multimedia input/output ports behind a top-mounted sliding door (USB 2.0, Firewire, e-SATA and Audio).

Reviews
| Gigabyte Cupio 6140 Ultra Quiet Special Edition Review |
The Gigabyte Cupio 6140 is one fine case, and Quiet PC USA has done well to increase the appeal with the quiet modifications. The fit and finish are top-notch, all of the features worked perfectly, and the tool-less chassis really surprised me with the external bays. It is definitely quiet, and doesn’t have loads of LEDs glaring at you, so it probably won't draw too much attention to itself.
