Heat-Radiating HDD Enclosure

The majority of disk enclosures do not release heat. They may prevent heat accrual to an extent, but the Smart Drive NEO is a HDD radiator. Tests (results above) prove that it reduces HDD temperatures by as much as 6°C, over those operating temperatures where the HDD in not enclosed. The SMART DRIVE NEO is finished in a special sprayed coating used to transfer heat away more quickly and efficiently. Our test results proved that this finish reduced the operating heat from an enclosed HDD by 2°C. The black coating is not just for outside appearance, it is more an effective endothermic feature of the enclosure.

Unique Design Features

The SMART DRIVE NEO enclosures feature the following design components:

• Specially designed springs that suspend the disk and absorb vibrational noise
• High-temp gel suspension cushions (improved performance over rubber)
• Thin sound absorbing materials in the top of the cover (effective for blocking low frequency noise from HDDs)
• Innovative screw design for the top cover (helping to keep the enclosed HDD stable)
• Flexible conductive pad, fits closely to the HDD contours for a close fit and efficient heat transfer
• The SATA cable is tucked between the top and body parts (forming an almost 100% seal)
