The Ultra Series features a patent-pending design of the fins. In every corner of every fin, a "winglet" is created. This bending of the corners creates an increased air pressure and in return decreases air resistance, so even with a low RPM fan you get massive air flow through the fins. The use of the Thermalright 120mm Ultra quiet fan significantly reduces high CPU temperatures. With a low fan RPM, the cooler is extremely quiet but performance remains, which is what you would expect from a high-end CPU cooler.

The heatsink uses U-shaped heatpipes to transfer the heat from the base of the cooler up and through the attached fins, maximizing the heat transfer. But that's not all, due to the winglet design mentioned earlier, it also increases the surface area. All these features translate into efficient and quiet cooling cooling typical of the high standard set by Thermalright's high quality CPU heatsinks.
